The NAF comprises many different storage systems. To better help you in case your access to some files is troubled, we provide the following form to you.

  1. Date and time of the problem
  2. Who are you?
    Name your account name, and which experiment or VO? If you use the Grid or dCache SE, please also provide your certificate DN.
  3. What files are you accessing?
    Exact location and full path. Name example files if many are affected, directory is not sufficient. Be careful if you have symbolic links in your path.
    In this case, please provide us with the real name. If you are copying files: Please provide 3), 4) and 5) for both the source and destination.
  4. Which storage system is used? AFS, DUST, dCache-SE? (Leave blank, if you do not know, but be sure to have answered Q3.)
  5. What access protocol is used? GridFTP/SRM, Dcap, GSIDcap, Posix/NFS? (Name the Experiment application and the configuration, if you do not know the protocol)
  6. FROM where do you want to access the data (ideally output of "hostname -f")
  7. Quote the error message (Cut & Paste)(Or describe the behaviour you see if there is no error message, like "ls -l into directory will make the shell hang forever")
  8. Is the problem persistent?
    • e.g. Yes, always the same file(s)
    • e.g. Yes, but problematic files are varying
    • e.g. Yes, from one host it always fails, whereas other hosts can access the file(s)
    • ...
