The ECFA Higgs / Top / Electroweak Factory study has been set up to expand the e+e− community, bringing people together across the various projects to share expertise and tools and to work coherently on scientific and technical topics. Results of the study will be summarised in the report, which should be finalised by the end of 2025, as an input to the next European Strategy Update. The report is assumed to address also the physics case for the future Higgs factory. We should make sure that the ILD results are well represented in the report and the physics case for the high energy collider options is also included.

Focus topics

The focus topics were identified as specific areas in which the ECFA study could reach significantly beyond the current understanding of the physics potential of future e+e− Higgs / top / EW factories. These topics are to be studied in a joint effort of different communities. Still, existing results and ongoing ILD studies should also be included. The table below was prepared to help collecting relevant information.

ECFA report

While the proposed focus topics are considered as high priority targets, the final report of the ECFA study is clearly expected to give a broader picture of the physics potential of the future Higgs / Top / Electroweak Factory, summarizing all relevant results. Many ILD studies have also contributed to this picture, we should consider them as possible input to the final ECFA report as well (where relevant). Possible input can also emerge from ongoing studies or new ideas. The table below  was prepared to help collecting information on results going beyond focus topics.
