Interaction of ultra-relativistic electron beams with crystalline and amorphous matter
Studying crystal-based beam extraction at one of the DESY circular accelerators could be of interest for future applications: in principle this scheme could be applied in order to realize a primary beam extraction for a new DESY Test Beam Facility.
However, for the optimization of the channeling extraction efficiency and for a better understanding of the underlying physical processes, high-energy electrodynamical processes as for example ionization losses, scattering and de-channeling will be studied in addition.
